Description

DALI, FOUR YEARS IN THE CAGE They found him alone, wandering the streets. No one was looking for him, no one was expecting him. His body was pure bone, his skin stuck to his skeleton. He was dirty, with a huge open wound that burned his back with every step. Sore, weak, with the vacant stare of someone who has already suffered too much. No one knows how long he had survived like this, dodging cars, searching for food in the garbage, enduring the cold of the night and constant fear. When someone tried to approach, he cowered, trembling. Above all, he feared men. Perhaps it was a blow, a kick, a scream… or all of them together, repeated so many times that he learned to associate the figure of a man with fear. He didn't have a chip. He didn't have a name. He had nothing. Just another dog discarded as if his life were worthless. It was July 2021 when he arrived at the shelter. He healed from his wounds, regained weight, and learned that not all humans cause harm. We discovered that, after that initial fear, Dalí is a noble, sweet dog, who only needed time and affection to trust again. Four years have passed since then. Four years waiting in a cage. He's about 6 years old. No one has noticed him he waits patiently wagging his tail when other dogs leave the shelter. And yet, he's still there, a healthy dog, wonderful temperament, strong, waiting and hoping. When someone approaches, he wags his tail with hope. His eyes light up. Dalí has learned to love again. All he needs is a family. Please let him be the next to leave.
