We have 5-6 female alpacas looking for a new home! We have these gorgeous girls available to loan (locally), loan with view to buy or sale to a 5* home. They are non breeding females and their ages range from 10yo - 18yo, they are fabulous pets and lawn mowers. They can help keep the grass down, they don't need alot of acreage around 1-2 acres would be enough for these girls, but you would need to be able to rotate the grazing. The field will need to be fenced with either thick hedges, post and rail or stock fencing- no electric fencing! Alpacas are naturally very aloof, they will eat from a bucket/hand and they are halter trained for husbandry but would not enjoy going for walks. They would require a field shelter to use as and when they would like. They may chase of a fox if one comes into their field. They are easy to keep, adlib hay, grazing, field shelter, fresh drinking water, daily poo picking and a very small amount of hard food is all they need daily, homes with livestock experience preferred. They require vitamins (given orally or injected) and toe nail trims, which I am more than happy to help you do, for this reason they need to stay local to us if on loan in the Torquay/Newton Abbot area. Alpacas are herd animals and need to be kept in groups of 3 minimum. They have just been sheared, worm counted and wormed and are ready to find a new paddock. Please message me for more information
