This species are Annex A and must have an Article 10 CITES certificate to be legally sold.

These tortoises all spend of their time outside in summer daytimes the 2 YO are generally in a protected garden run for their safety, but now also have free access to a restricted area of the garden when someone is in the garden. The parents of these are available to for viewing, these generally have free reign of the garden when they are not hibernating.
We will require confirmation that potential purchasers are familiar with the requirements for tortoise care, including assurances for their proposed future accommodation. We reserve the right to refuse sale if necessary. We will not part with these animals to anyone that proposes to keep them in an indoor environment, that is anything less than Zoo proportions.
Spur-Thighed tortoises are relatively easy to care for, but there are fundamental pitfalls. There are many websites that provide guidance for tortoise care, the Tortoise Trust being one good example. We will provide some guidance notes giving some care information and on pitfalls that new keepers need to be aware of.
These tortoises started off as family pets, this is the first year we have marketed the offspring. In over 30 years of tortoise keeping we have never lost a tortoise or had to take any tortoise to a vet for a health issue.
