The father of the puppies is our friend's dog Leo, who came all the way from Italy – a stunning Italian pedigree representative of a unique, intelligent line of working truffle hunting dogs and show line with many champions in the family.
Health Testing
Our Lagotto Romagnolo puppies’ parents have been health tested for the following conditions to ensure they are in excellent health:
• Hip/Elbow Dysplasia: parents have been tested for hip dysplasia to ensure the puppies inherit strong, healthy hips/elbows joints.
• Juvenile Epilepsy (JE): Clear
• Lagotto Storage Disease (LSD): Clear
• Furnishings: Full • Hyperuricosuria / Urate Stones (HUU, SLC): Clear
• Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA): Our dogs are clear of PRA, ensuring good vision for the puppies.
• Neuroaxonal Dystrophy (NAD): This test ensures that the puppies are free from this genetic disorder, promoting healthy development.
Our priority is to breed healthy, happy dogs, and these comprehensive health tests are a testament to our commitment.
About the Lagotto Romagnolo Breed: The Lagotto Romagnolo is an affectionate, intelligent, and energetic breed, originally bred to retrieve from water and later in Italy to hunt truffles. They are known for their curly, hypoallergenic coats and loving personalities. With a medium-sized, compact build, Lagottos are versatile and make great family pets or companions for active individuals. Their playful nature and eagerness to please make them great with children and other pets. They’re also highly trainable, excelling in obedience, agility or tuffle hunting. This breed is well-suited for those looking for a loyal and energetic companion who enjoys being part of the family.
Puppy Socialisation: Our puppies are raised in a loving home environment, surrounded by daily interactions with family members, including children, and other dogs. Early socialisation is a key part of their development, and we ensure they are accustomed to household noises, new people, and a variety of environments. This helps them grow into well-rounded, confident, and friendly dogs. Each puppy is handled daily and exposed to various stimuli to ensure they are comfortable with different situations. They are also introduced to basic training, including early potty training, to help them settle into their new homes easily.
