The La Perm, also known as LaPerm, is a relative newcomer to the UK, but is quickly gaining a following thanks to its endearing nature and charming appearance. These medium-sized cats with their unusual curly coats were originally bred in the USA, and it all happened rather by accident. However, the LaPerms were soon officially recognised in the USA before arriving on British shores in 2002, and since their arrival here the breed has been recognised by the GCCF and given champion status.
