Tibetan Kittens for sale in Lytham Saint Annes, Lancashire

We found 0 Tibetan Kittens for sale in Lytham Saint Annes, Lancashire.

The Tibetan is a medium sized cat breed new to the UK, but already fully recognised in the Netherlands (where it originated), Belgium, Germany, France and South Africa. She is a semi-longhaired Tonkinese, and while the Tonkinese derives from a Siamese/Burmese cross, the Tibetan is the result of a Balinese (a semi-longhaired Siamese) and a Burmese. Tibetans are slowly gaining popularity in the UK with a small handful of breeders promoting this new breed. These breeders have also formed a specialist cat club dedicated to Tibetans and are working towards gaining recognition from both the Governing Council of Cat Fancy (GCCF) and the International Cat Association (TICA) in due course. The Burmese were recognised here in the 1950s, the Balinese in the 1980s and the mink-coloured Tonkinese received full recognition in 2001, so there is good reason to believe that the Tibetans will also be fully recognised in the future.

FAQs

What is the temperament of a Tibetan cat?

Tibetan cats are highly intelligent, sociable, and talkative. They are strong-willed yet affectionate and enjoy forming deep bonds with their owners. Known for their playful nature, they love games like fetch and display a unique combination of acrobatic agility and a heavy-footed tread. Owners often describe them as being like part puppy, part monkey, and part elephant due to their varied behaviors and affectionate disposition.

Are there cats in Tibet?

While specific information about native or feral cats in Tibet is limited, domestic cats do exist in Tibet as pets or feral animals, similar to many other regions. However, the Tibetan cat breed itself is a distinct domestic breed and not necessarily native to Tibet.
