The Basset Fauve de Bretagne, also known as Fawn Brittany Basset, is native to France and has only recently started to enjoy popularity here in the UK, where their numbers are still small. They are charming little dogs with an affectionate, lively nature that are fun to have around. They are not quite as low to the ground as their Basset Hound cousins, but just like them, the BFB is longer in the body than it is tall.

The Basset Fauve de Bretagne barks moderately; its barking can become more frequent if the dog is bored or lacks sufficient exercise, but proper training and regular physical activity can help control this behaviour.
