Affectionately known as the "Beardie," Bearded Collie they remain a popular pet thanks to their friendly and lovable nature. However, Bearded Collies, also known as Highland Collie, Mountain Collie, Hairy Mou'ed Collie, was originally bred as a hardy working dog and has been known by many different names over the years, including Highland Collie and Old Welsh Grey Sheepdog, to name just two. They are alert, intelligent and very adaptable dogs that are comfortable around people and love nothing more than to be in a familiar environment and participate in everything that is going on around them.
