The Irish Water Spaniel, also known as Whiptail, Shannon Spaniel, Rat Tail Spaniel, Bog Dog, is an ancient breed and one of the largest spaniels ever. They were originally bred to retrieve waterfowl and other game in more difficult swamp areas. They have a beautiful dark, liver-coloured coat consisting of thick curls that cover the entire body except for the muzzle, the front of the neck, and most of the tail, which adds to their adorable appearance.
