Since their appearance on the scene, they have proven to be a great choice for families with children, the elderly, and as companions, as they boast of their loyal, loving, friendly, and playful nature. At the moment, and because the breed is so new, Shorkies are not recognised by the Kennel Club or other international dog associations (as of March 2018).
