Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover and hobby keeper with experience caring for all sorts of pets— horses, birds, reptiles, fish, hamsters, gerbils, rabbits, and cats. I have a real soft spot for rescues and animals that need a second chance, and have taken in many animals with behaviour issues (eg aggression) or that have been abandoned (eg kittens that were rejected by their mum and needed hand raising).
I love learning about the animals I keep, especially how they live in the wild, and I try to reflect that in how I care for them. That means feeding them species-appropriate diets (like proper seed mixes and protein sources for hamsters and high-quality, grain-free food for the cats) and giving them as much space and enrichment as possible. For example, our rabbits live in a group in a secure shed and have free roam of half the garden and burrowing areas, our cats are indoor-only but with access to a catio, and the hamsters are in large enclosures filled with things to explore. Our cats and bunnies are all spayed, neutered and vaccinated and our pets always get any vet attention they need.
Building trust with animals who’ve had a rough start in life is something I really value.
Rehoming a pet is always a last resort for me, and any transition is handled with great care. I do everything I can to keep my pets for life, but if ever I need to rehome one, I make sure they go to a safe, loving home that’s the right fit.
Animal welfare and respect for their natural needs are at the heart of everything I do.
