Meet The Inchems

We are a small, family-run hobby poultry business specialising in Silkie chickens. We’re the Inghams — or as our son proudly calls us, the Inchems. Our passion is raising friendly, gentle Silkies that make wonderful additions to family homes and backyard flocks. All of our birds are hand-reared and family handled from a young age, helping them grow into calm, affectionate chickens. They are raised around children, dogs, and other animals, so they settle easily into busy family environments. We provide carefully put-together starter sets for families who are new to keeping chickens, offering not just birds but ongoing support, advice, and a positive start to backyard chicken keeping. Silkies are loved for their gentle nature and quirky personalities — and while they make fantastic pets, they also give something back by laying eggs for the family to enjoy. For us, this is more than a hobby — it’s about sharing our love of Silkies and helping families enjoy the rewards of raising happy, well-socialised chickens.
