I've bred Oriental cats for 35 years, mentored by Pat Turner, a cat colour geneticist, her affix was Scintilla, for the older film who may remember her. A wonderful, knowledgeable lady.

Five years ago I started with Savannahs, a lovely, but very different breed to Orientals with regard to personality. Oriental are in your face, helping whether you want it or not, talking whether you want to listen or not. Very much need their people. Savannahs if raised properly, as kittens, are very friendly outgoing, affectionate. However once their hormones kick in, they become suspicious of strangers. This is perfectly normal it's part of the Serval heritage rearing it's head. My niece was a game warden in a number of African Game reserves. She knows Servals extremely well, and she told me all about their personalities.
