DescriptionWe are really sad to say that Bracken is looking for a new home. He is a fantastic lad and his adopter genuinely loves him to bits, but her home situation is just not right for him.
Bracken was born in September 2020 and was originally rescued in Tulcea by Burduja Trifan Ionela . He has been with his adopter since August 2022. He is fully vaccinated, neutered and weighs 15kg, and is 49cm tall. He is currently in the Manchester area.
Bracken gets anxious but his anxiety can be managed with consistency and routine. He loves his x-pen and a frozen kong; he enjoys a good sniff on a walk, and to run around with other dogs, in a controlled environment. He is currently living with another dog, and a cat. However, the door of the property opens directly onto the street, and Bracken and his companion get stressed by people passing. He can be possessive over toys, and he is not suitable to be rehomed with children or where there are children visiting regularly. He doesn't like their unpredictability.
Bracken doesn't like strangers coming to the house, but again this can be managed, it just needs a consistent approach. Unfortunately, when the adopter is at work, the routines are not followed, and Bracken's stress levels rise.
The ideal home for Bracken would be with a newly retired couple, or adopters that have plenty of time to establish and follow routines. With the correct introductions Bracken would be happy living with another dog or dogs, but equally he could be an only dog. Any cat needs to be dog savvy. Bracken would also be best suited to a rural home, away from the constant stimulation of the city.
The adopter has worked with a behaviourist and is happy to share the report. Any new adopter(s) will also have the support of our behaviourist, and the whole team.
