AVAILABLE-the ever hopeful spirited ‘Magpie’ 18months old collie cross (approx’) & never had anywhere to put all that love. Smallish medium
A multi-faceted little girl who like so many dogs offers so much on her journey of abandonment & dwindling hope. When she first arrived at the shelter (one where these poor animals are not safe & still at risk) for her it was the closest she’d ever come to a home & you see her wiggling bum & joy at such a morsel. Like any living creature through the emptiness of each passing day you could lose a little of that faith or just feel the burden of monotony more as the months drag on. That magpie can greet you with a never ending tail wag, spring in her step & engagement through what is clearly a palpable sadness at times really demonstrates her incredible nature. She is just aching to be a loyal and all round rewarding companion. Each aspect of her stunning temperament is enchanting as it is highlighted in the 9months she’s been waiting to be chosen. Magpie can be tranquil, playful, tired, sad, happy, springy, relaxed, animated, assertive, passive and gentle- she likes men & women as well as children. She can join in with dogs or be single minded & through it all watching her friends leave like duchess for instance, she’s never stopped giving affection as though we humans had never let her down. Magpie has endured an existence of rejection, cultural stigma because she’s black, indifference, neglect and hunger- as well as loneliness though like so many animals they get through it and they don’t let it define them. Alls she wants and is clearly trying to get in all the videos is a sense of belonging & a spooning partner through thick and thin. Magpie on account of her perseverance & longing deserves to be united with her special person.
She’s made for a family, couple or single living folk who want to go for your standard walks, camping maybe, days at a beach &/or woodland walks at the weekends with Sunday roasts and cuddles in front of a good film - magpie is a traditional kind of gal- that’s the normality she’ll fit into and if there are canine friends to boot well that’s a bonus- though not a requirement. If you want to climb Snowdon she’ll match it as she’s climbed mountains anyway in her soul like they are molehills.
Doggy play dates in an enclosed field would be great and she has enough independence to be ok a few hours on her own if needed or pass the time with your neighbour when they call in to take her out- for instance.
An outside space or residence with a communal area and walks close by would be grand & dog trained sensible children. Thank you for reading - please give magpie what she always should have known - a home…. at long last a home of her own
