We are looking to rehome Bella – one of our Podengo-mix sisters.
She’s 18 months old and she came with her sister to join our family in April this year. She’s totally house and lead trained, with good recall (most of the time!) and in good health with all vaccinations etc up to date. She is very good with all other dogs and she has been amazing in our home, especially with my two kids who are aged 13 and 11. She is extremely affectionate and loves nothing more than a cuddle on the sofa or a good scratch behind the ears. Very calm, slightly nervous, not a BIG BARKER, unless there's someone at the door. Active if you want her to be and super-fast, but equally content on a lead walk having a good sniff. Very food motivated, so we've found her quite easy to train.
HOWEVER, since she arrived with us in the spring we have been dealing with the symptoms of Littermate Syndrome, where one dog is very dominant of the other. Bella is the submissive dog in our pair, and this has been a challenging relationship to manage, with the situation deteriorating over recent weeks.
It has been a very difficult decision for us, but we feel that she will be happier and more settled if separated from her sister. We are heartbroken, but we want to do what’s best for our dog and find her a home where she can flourish and continue to be the lovely dog that she is.
