Description
We are considering rehoming our much-loved Labrador, Fergi (3 years old, 4 in March). This is an extremely hard decision and not one we are taking lightly. Before making any final decision, we want to see if there is a truly 10/10 home available for her where she can thrive.
About Fergi:
• Charcoal Labrador
• Great with children
• Good with other dogs
• Not cat-friendly
Reason for considering rehoming:
Fergi is the youngest of our three dogs. She and our oldest dog (a female GSD) can occasionally fight over toys. This usually starts when Fergi tries to take something from her; our GSD growls as a warning, but Fergi doesn’t always back off, which can then escalate. To prevent this, toys have been removed, but this isn’t an ideal long-term solution.
We’ve also recently moved from Guernsey, where we had easy access to private fields and off-lead walks, to living in a village. Walking three dogs alongside my young son has become very difficult. As they’ve spent most of their lives walking off lead, they do pull for the first few minutes of a walk, which makes managing them alone challenging. My husband works long hours, so much of this falls to me.
When Fergi is on her own, she is a completely different dog — calm, gentle, and incredibly well-behaved. She really is “as good as gold.”
Additional information:
• Not spayed
• Vaccinations are not currently up to date
What we are looking for in a home:
• A home where all of Fergi’s needs can be fully met
• A couple or family who can give her time, attention, and structure
• She can live with another dog, provided they are compatible (a meet would be essential)
• Someone committed to daily walks and appropriate exercise
• A home where she will receive plenty of love, affection, and companionship
Our priority is Fergi’s happiness and wellbeing, and we will only consider homes that truly suit her.
If you feel you could offer Fergi an exceptional home or have any questions, please message me.
