Meet Skye, Skye is a Lovely, Playful happy girl who is searching for a new home to call her own. She absolutely loves her food and is very food orientated which is amazing for training, she will do anything for her hot dogs and chicken! She loves searching for her food her family hides around the house and garden and will often enjoy playing with her treats enjoying fetch and tug of war. Playing is her favourite, She loves playing tug of war with her stuffed animal toys and loves chasing them around the garden.
Skye can be nervous around new people visiting which can cause her to be reactive, she would prefer a quieter home less visitors, she does settle overtime with slow introductions and treats.
She loves greeting people she knows and gets very excited when her favourite people visit. She also loves to curl up on her blanket and sleep close by to her favourite people, she loves a cuddle when she is sleepy. Her ears are very expressive and she will move them around and tilt her head when she is interested, how can you not fall in love with her.
👨👧👦Skye can share her home with Older Dog Savvy Children with slow and sensible introductions. She has never been around children.
🐕Skye can share her home with dogs with a successful meet or initial separation and slow introductions. She has met dogs while in Romania and our UK kennels which she was good with and walked with a family dog who she ignored.
🐈Skye has never met cats however has never shown a prey drive while on walks.
🐕🦺Skye accepts a collar, harness and lead. She can be an escape artist and easily get out of her collar therefore she now uses her harness for walks. She is good on the lead and will often walk slowly while sniffing the ground but she can sometimes pull on the lead if she is excited or scared. Skye can find walks overwhelming which can cause her to be reactive towards other dogs and people while on walks. She walks better in open fields and while on grass therefore would prefer a home in a quieter area. She loves big zoomies and will run for ages, zooming around on the grass, digging in the mud and splashing through the puddles.
Skye is toilet trained, she will bark or tap on the door when she needs to go out. She is also partially crate trained, she will happily get into her crate and uses this as her safe place when spooked however is not a fan of the door being closed. She has previously shown destructive behaviours however has now grown out of these. Skye sleeps well overnight downstairs in the kitchen with no issues unless she gets spooked by loud noises however she does suffer with separation anxiety and she will need some who is home with her and able to build up her alone time. Skye also travels okay in the car and will happily jump in and sit during the journey.
