Description
Reggie is a 5.5 year old, male Jack Russell Terrier who regrettably is in need of a new home. Reggie is a true companion dog with a good temperament, who loves to be by your side, or cosied up on your lap. Reggie is well-loved by everyone he meets. He is very sociable, and dances on his back legs when his group dog walker arrives to take him out with the rest of the pack to play. This socialness extends to interacting with other dogs both in his own home, or when visiting other houses. Reggie confidently settles in to new and unfamiliar surroundings with other dogs and people.
I've enjoyed the pleasure of Reggie's company for 14 months, after myself rehoming him from a family via this website. Unfortunately, Reggie did not adjust well going from being in a busy family home, to living in a quiet house with just myself. I work full-time, meaning that he is left alone for the duration of the work day. Reggie has separation anxiety that comes on after short durations of being alone. As such, it is essential that his new family are aware of this, and have a lifestyle that means he is not left on his own frequently nor for long periods. He is a very intelligent, loving, loyal and expressive dog, who deserves a home that better meets his needs.
I have greatly enjoyed seeing how quickly Reggie has learned new commands. As well as being smart and sociable, he loves going on long walks where he can put his nose to the ground and explore. At home he is a very affectionate dog, who loves his zoomies and being in your company.
Reggie needs a home in the countryside, and would suit a house with other dogs or being the only dog. He is neither cat nor small animal-friendly, having the classic terrier instinct to chase both! Reggie originally came from a family where he grew up around toddler to primary school age children. I have not had any interactions with him and children, but would imagine that his background and gentle nature would make him a good dog for a house with children. Reggie is fully up to date with his vaccinations.
This has been a difficult decision after 14 months of trying our best to make our circumstances work. Reggie is very loved. I will ask a lot of questions of anyone interested in offering him a new home, to allow me to make all of the checks necessary to find his true forever home.
