Description
Midas is a chocolate dapple covered in cream and carries a copy of the blue (dilute) gene. Midas has a fantastic temperament and is also fantastic with other dogs. He’s fully vaccinated and is a proven producer of some gorgeous looking pups. Midas is true to type and is a proper miniature dachshund with nice short legs. KC Registered and PRA clear. What makes him special and stand out from all the other Miniature Dachshund studs out there is his colour and DNA. Midas’ colour and DNA is up there with the most rare in the UK (atat bb ee Dd Mm). What this means is that he can make all the colours in the book - black tan, silver dapple, chocolate tan, chocolate dapple, isabella tan, isabella dapple, isabella tan platinums, creams... the list is endless. You name it and he can make it put to the right female. If you have further questions or want to know what he could produce when mated with your bitch then please don’t hesitate to get in touch and we can assist you further. I have added the bit below for those of you that want to know how the coat colour genetics work. However, if you have further questions or want to know what he will produce with your bitch then please don’t hesitate to get in touch and we can assist you further. Mating can be done by AI (artificial insemination) Help with coat colour genetics & DNA: For those of you that are not so clued up on the colour genetics and DNA in dogs, here are a few examples of what you’d get when mated with Midas: - If your bitch is a chocolate tan not carrying blue or cream then you would get a full litter of chocolate tans and chocolate dapples. All offspring would carry cream and 50% (in theory) would carry blue. - If your bitch is a chocolate tan carrying blue then you’d get chocolate tans, chocolate dapples, isabella tans, isabella dapples all carrying cream. (if you haven’t DNA tested but know one of your bitch’s parents was an isabella tan/isabella dapple then your bitch will 100% carry a copy of blue) - If your bitch is a chocolate tan carrying blue and cream then you could get chocolate tans, chocolate dapples, isabella tans, isabella dapples and all of these colours covered in cream. What I mean by “covered in cream” is that the dog will be visually cream but have the genetic make up of any of the colours listed above. In theory 50% of the puppies in this litter will be visually cream. - If your bitch is a black tan that carries chocolate, then you would get the same colours as you would by using any other chocolate dapple dog on her - black tans, silver dapples, chocolate tan, chocolate dapples. The only difference would be that every pup will carry a copy of cream and 50% of the litter (in theory) will carry a copy of blue.
