Gatto — which means “cat” in Italian — was given his name as a playful nod to his agility, independence, and mischievous charm. But don’t be fooled — this boy is all dog when it comes to loyalty, affection, and love.
Behind his cheerful spirit lies a story of heartbreak and resilience. Gatto was abandoned and taken to a Belarusian killing compound, where unwanted dogs are destroyed. He was just moments away from death when volunteers stepped in and rescued him — quite literally saving his life.
Since then, Gatto has embraced his second chance with everything he’s got. He’s endlessly playful, full of goofy energy, and always eager for adventure. He’s smart and responsive, listens well to people, and has already mastered life in a home — including leash walking and car rides. (Though fair warning: he sometimes thinks he should be the driver!)
Gatto would thrive as a second dog in a loving family. He’s social with other dogs, deeply affectionate with humans, and full of life. His unique name reflects his one-of-a-kind spirit — independent, curious, and brave.
Gatto may have come from tragedy, but he’s writing his own happy ending — and he’s ready to share it with you.
