It is with heavy hearts that we have made the difficult decision to rehome our gorgeous girl, Lola. Lola has been such a joy to have in our lives, but unfortunately, due to changes in our circumstances, work commitments and our toddler starting nursery, we no longer have the time and attention that she deserves. We want to find her a home where she can have the time, companionship and space she needs to truly thrive. Lola is a lovely, friendly girl who is fantastic with children. She has grown up around children aged 2–8 and has never shown any signs of aggression towards them. She is also a very well-behaved dachshund when it comes to walks. She walks beautifully on the lead, is confident toileting outside and does not bark at other dogs. She is friendly with people and other dogs, although she can be nervous when meeting someone new. Once she gets to know you, she becomes incredibly affectionate and will be your best friend. Lola thrives in a family environment and tends to have a preference for female figures. She loves playing with her toys and knows basic commands such as “sit” and “bed”. She is crate trained and will happily settle down and sleep through the night in her crate. One important thing to be aware of is that Lola does experience anxiety when left alone in the house. Because of this, we feel she would be happiest with someone who works from home, stays at home or is able to provide her with plenty of companionship and gradually work with her on being left alone. A home with a secure garden would be ideal for Lola. She is confident with toileting outside, and we feel having her own garden would make life much easier and more comfortable for her. Lola is currently fed on Tails tailored food and will come with enough food to last until 25th October. She will also come with everything she needs to help her settle into her new home, including: • Crate • Bed • Toys • Lead • Harness • Collar • Blanket with familiar smells to help her settle • Food • Car Seat Crate Lola is up to date with her vaccinations and is microchipped. Her last season was on 22nd June, so she is now ready to be neutered. Unfortunately, with everything going on in our lives, we have not yet been able to arrange this ourselves. This is an incredibly difficult decision for us, and finding the right home for Lola is our absolute priority. We want to make sure she goes to a loving, responsible home where she will be treated as part of the family and given the time and attention she deserves. If you feel Lola could be the right fit for your home, or you have any questions about her, please get in touch. We are happy to answer any questions and would much rather take the time to find the right home for her than rush the process. Thank you for taking the time to read about little lady ❤️

Pros

Extremely affectionate and loyal little dogs

Very intelligent Dachshunds learn quickly and know how to please

Fun-loving and playful by nature

Energetic and feisty Dachshunds like to be kept entertained

Cons

Not the best choice for first time owners because Dachshunds often have a mind of their own

Care must be taken with puppies because they must not be allowed to jump up or down from anywhere because it could damage their backs and joints

They are prone to putting on too much weight if not given enough daily exercise

The breed is known to suffer from quite a few health concerns so vet bills can be high and why pet insurance is so important for anyone owning a Dachshund
