Jake is a highly energetic 2 year old friendly, loving GSD x Springer dog. He is big time social and will want to say hi to everyone and everything he can see (to the point where he has no manners off the lead) We adopted him six months ago off a mutual friend who we had a more active lifestyle than as they, like us, couldn’t cope with his energy, lead pulling, and poor recall ONLY when around other dogs. After 6 months of trying our absolute best and investing around £1000 in his training with multiple different trainers, he’s still too untrustworthy for us personally and we no longer have time for the training commitment as we thought we would’ve had all the bad bits behind us by now.
Our house is too small to keep him really as well with his energy levels if I’m being honest. He would suit a home with no other pets with an active and fit person too look after him and keep him in check, I run 10ks with him on the regular just for reference but with me working away from home half of the month and my partner being left with him she struggles to burn his energy and manage him (its hard to burn his energy when he can’t be trusted not to run up to other dogs off the lead) even if they aren’t friendly!
In the home, Jake is absolutely amazing and perfect in every manner. He doesn’t bark, is fully potty trained, he is crate trained, he might watch out of the window eagerly awaiting your return and that’s about it! He has been neutered and had his full set of vaccinations also. He loves a snuggle and will do anything to get your affection. He just can be a bit rough and tumble especially with dogs smaller than him as he believes every dog just wants to play hence why we recommend a home free from other dogs.
Jake will be free of charge, should we find the right home for him, in the hopes that his next home will be his last as we really don’t want him to be passed around
I can’t emphasise enough how heartbreaking it is for us to be saying goodbye, but our situation just doesn’t allow us to have such an energetic big puppy in our lives anymore.
He is micro chipped fully vaccinated wormed and fleas last month
Jake will come with everything he own bed, collar , leads, harness ,toys his favourite blanket and what’s left of his food with tub and scoop and bowls
