I brought this sweet boy home when he was two months old as a companion for my female canary. They were well loved pets and he fit right into the family with his beautiful song and calm demeanour. He loves to take baths in his cage and eats a varied diet with pellets and fresh water every day. He is soon turning three years old and is a health canary male with beautiful grey and orange feathers. I am only rehoming him as his companion, my female canary, has passed away recently and I don’t have the heart to see him lonely or get another bird (I have a flock of 6!)
As is expected of canaries, he is not hand tame but is quite calm when I hold him to trim his nails every once in a while. He has no health issues and has ate a varied diet in my care.
I would like him to go home to a family that will keep him either with other canaries indoors or an aviary as long as he is fed well and can get good sleep at night (10-12 hours). I do not want him to be at risk of being rehomed several times and I am not in a rush to give him away. Please do not contact me if you have never had canaries before, I do not want him to go to inexperienced owners. Please have a look at the pictures and the quality of life I try to give my birds.
The price of the listing is not for purchasing the bird, he himself is invaluable and free to the right home. £50 hardly covers the price of his full cage set up, food, toys and other bits for his comfort and familiarity. If you do not need the cage, we can discuss this too only if you have an appropriate set up.
I’d love to keep in touch and know how he’s getting on with his new flock family. I’d be happy to help with advice or anything needed even after he’s no longer my bird.
