⚠️ DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU MEET THE FOLLOWING:
Free-roam, indoor-only home. No cages, no pens, no dogs, no children, no shared space with larger rabbits. Free roam 24/7 in her own room could work too.
Adults-only household — no children, no teens, no compromises.
Prior experience with high-needs rabbits.
Familiar with hay-only diets, dental issues, and health surveillance.
Commitment to daily enrichment (toys, chews, obstacles) and gentle, hands-off grooming methods.
Knowledge of rabbit nutrition and hay varieties and cuts is a must.
🧬 Medical & Behavioural Notes:
This rabbit is:
A rescue with a traumatic background.
Has ongoing bladder issues — requires specialised diet (not covered by insurance).
Not socialised with humans or rabbits. Defensive and fearful around other rabbits.
Must be groomed daily due to dense coat, but absolutely minimal handling — she must feel safe. She has been in training to learn to take care of herself more after a few years of neglect in her previous home and daily brushing helps her.
Climber — environment must be padded and enriched.
There must be balance between her need to lay high and her spine vulnerability as a dwarf.
Expected to need long-term, high-cost vet care, especially for back teeth surveillance.
She will need regular vet visits every 2 to 4 months for check ups.
She hates being handled.
She loves sugary bunny treats but she is not allowed to have them except on very rare occasions. She can't have pellets often either. She cannot have anything high in calcium.
She does not like fast movements at all, crowded places and homes with many visitors.
🛑 Why She’s Being Rehomed:
She was taken in with full intention to stay. But my existing animals have not accepted her — one severely injured her.
If you can offer what she needs — not just love, but precision — message with details of:
Your rabbit experience
Your living setup
Your vet provider
What you understand about dental care, nutrition, and trauma in rabbits
Vet fund available at the moment or, plans for vet bills when they come, because they will come with this specific rabbit.
📜 Non-Negotiables:
No kids
No cages
No dogs except if they are not loud at all and kept in different areas.
Outdoor setups only for limited, supervised time. She does love coconut coir and digging. She must have access to this daily.
Must be housed solo at the beginning. She will need a partner of the same breed or of similar size.
Must have daily movement, grooming, and observation
Adoption fee of £250 — this goes toward the total cost of her vet recovery (which exceeded £1000). This is not for profit — it’s to ensure she is placed with someone who can financially and emotionally support her needs long-term.
💛 Her Personality
Hekate is a gentle soul. Though unsocialised due to prolonged neglect in her previous home, she has never shown any aggression — only fear, which is understandable and natural for her history.
She communicates her boundaries with quiet clarity and never oversteps. She's deeply curious, loves to explore, and is making steady progress with her toilet habits. While she clearly desires connection with another rabbit, she's currently uncomfortable around them — this is something that can improve with time, patience, and safe, structured introductions.
She’s not destructive — her energy goes into her toys and enrichment, never your home. When frightened, she freezes or flees rather than lashes out.
She still has a long journey ahead of her, but she’s trying — and if you think you can offer her not just comfort, but understanding, structure, and time, I’d love to hear from you. She truly deserves the very best this life can offer.
