The picture is of ‘Skylar’ our cavapoo that joined our family 4 years ago. She was a part of our family when we were staying with my parents at their home. She had the benefit of a large farm estate and was never left alone as my father being retired was always around. My father developed a really strong bond with Skylar and when we moved out of their home into our new family home we thought it best to let Skylar stay with my parents and the home that she loved until we were settled. During that time my father suffered a stroke and On his return home he found himself becoming more reliant on Skylar who helped in his rehabilitation and gave him purpose. The choice was hard but seeing the difference and the impact that Skylar was having, my children decided they wanted her to stay and help Grandad. We often see Skylar and she does occasionally stay with us, but she knows that her place is on the farm. We are a young family with a teenager and a 5 year old. Our home has plenty of space and lots of outdoor walking spaces. The kids are yearning for a furry friend to join our family and my wife and I are fortunate to be in jobs that offer the flexibility to work from home. We are looking this time to offer our home and adopt a young cockapoo or cavapoo, we say young because of the kids and interaction with other dogs, especially Skylar. Preferably a male puppy but we are open. Skylar was adopted as a pup rescued from a puppy farm, so our preference is to adopt and give a second chance to a pup to be part of a loving family home.
