Hi, I’m Kody in foster in Newcastle Up on Tyne. I am a 2-year-old Pointer mix with striking white markings and adorable floppy ears! I’m an active and energetic boy who’s always up for an adventure, but I also have a sweet, loving side that comes out once we get to know each other. Ear rubs and cuddles? Yes, please—those are my favorites!
I’m naturally friendly and curious, though I might be a little reserved when meeting new people. It doesn’t take long for me to warm up, and once I do, you’ll see how loyal and affectionate I can be. I’m looking for a family who can match my lively spirit and give me the love and care I deserve.
I get along wonderfully with other dogs and would love to have a canine playmate at home. If I’m your only dog, I’d thrive with regular playdates to meet up with my doggy friends and burn off my energy.
A secure garden with a 6-foot fence would be ideal for me to run, play, and explore safely. I’d do best with an active family who enjoys outdoor adventures and can keep up with my playful energy.
Important info about me:
I was bitten by a sandfly and developed leishmania, but don’t worry! It’s dormant and under control thanks to treatment, my last tests were even negative. I just need to take an inexpensive daily medication and have regular blood tests (twice a year) to ensure it stays that way. My rescuers are very knowledgeable about leishmania and assure me that it’s manageable and won’t shorten my life if monitored properly. Plus, it’s not contagious to humans or other animals.
