Description
📅 Estimated Date of Birth: 11 December 2022
📏 Height: approx. 61 cm (can be measured on request)
⚖️ Weight: approx. 25 kg
🧬 Type: Belgian Malinois × German Shepherd mix
🏠 Currently: 2 years in the shelter, waiting for a home
Her Story:
It’s heartbreaking to see such a beautiful, bright young dog spend two long years behind bars. Tara was rescued from a public shelter/kill station, where her life hung by a thread.
Still so young, still so full of love — yet she has had to grow up watching the world through a fence.
Tara is an energetic, intelligent and loyal girl who longs to live, to learn and to belong. Every day she waits patiently, her kind eyes shining with hope that someone, somewhere, will finally see her.
Why Tara is truly special:
🤗 Loving & loyal: Tara adores human affection and forms deep, lasting bonds with her people.
🧠 Intelligent & eager to learn: She thrives on positive training, structure and shared activities.
🌟 Active working spirit: Always ready for a walk, a task or a game — and calm and content afterwards.
🎨 Breed mix: Likely a Belgian Malinois × German Shepherd — strong, sensitive, and deeply devoted.
🌳 Freedom & safety: A securely fenced (man-height or higher) dog-proof garden is essential so she can safely stretch her legs, explore, and enjoy the feeling of freedom she’s been denied for so long.
Her Name & Meaning:
“Tara” means star and protector — named after Dewi Tara, the Tibetan goddess of compassion.
It’s the perfect name for this gentle soul: a shining star still waiting to guide her person home.
Ideal Home:
Tara deserves an active, loving forever home — not just for a while, but for life.
She’ll thrive with adopters who:
Understand intelligent, strong breeds and can offer calm, confident leadership through positive guidance.
Have time and presence, not being away all day, every day (alternating work schedules or partial home presence are ideal).
Can offer both mental and physical stimulation — walks, playtime, training, and quiet moments of closeness.
Tara could live happily as an only dog if she receives enough daily interaction, but she could also pair beautifully with a friendly, balanced male dog.
✨ After two long years behind bars, Tara still smiles — still hopes — still believes.
Let’s help her light finally shine where it belongs: in someone’s heart, not behind a fence. 💛
📩 CONTACT:
Friends InDeed Animal Rescue is a registered charity.
A home check (sometimes even online) is required before any adoption.
We do not place our dogs with people who don’t genuinely love animals – too many lives depend on us, and we can’t afford to take chances.
To adopt one of our dogs, you must have your own secure garden (dog-proof, with man-height fencing and safe gates) and no children under 10 years old.
We do not provide working dogs, therapy dogs, or assistance dogs – no matter how noble the intention.
If you adopt Tara, she will live with you as a beloved family member, cherished and cared for as she truly deserves.
You also agree to keep in touch with us – we love updates and are always here for support if you need it.
We prefer to communicate via phone or WhatsApp, as we both work during the day and have limited email access. It’s much easier and faster to exchange all necessary information this way.
If you’d like, we can arrange a video call, so you can meet Tara live before meeting her in person.
We are a 100% genuine and transparent rescue, fully dedicated to saving lives.
We are also actively involved in sterilisation programmes for stray dogs and in finding loving forever homes.
We reserve the right to ask for a different adoption contribution depending on each dog’s individual circumstances.
In most cases, our costs are not fully covered.
We stay in touch with all our adopters – over 500 families so far – and can provide excellent references upon request.
⚠️ Please note: we receive many irrelevant messages and calls.
We kindly ask – no time wasters, please!
Thank you for your understanding and compassion.
With kind regards,
Adrian & Maria
