This is Atlas , bought him at a caravan site because I felt bad for him , already had a staffie thought he’d be a great companion for her , which was kinda true , but he grew and grew and with it came reactivity not to me or my son but to other dogs and he’s really not keen on small children which I have 3 of living one side and 2 the other , he constantly guards the perimeter of my small garden going at the fences when anyone’s near them on either side to the point that my garden looks like a concentration camp with wire up high to stop him trying to jump over , I wholeheartedly love this dog as he is bonded to me but I feel like I’m not able to give him the enrichment and space he needs , he really needs to be the only dog in a home with older children (my youngest is 15 ) I have spent hours and hours trying to change this behaviour but he always reverts back , he’s never bitten another dog or a person he’s never been off lead apart from a hired dog park he has good recall he sits , down , paw , middle , and does centre , he’s doesn’t resource guard , you can take his toys or bone , he walks nice with a halti but is a little nervous of traffic , writing this is killing me but I need to put my feelings aside and try to do what’s right for him and a adult home with a nice garden with high fencing and no other pets will be better for him
