Update I will not be letting Cali just go to anyone, I have had a lot of suspicious messages from people who clearly would not have her best interests at heart. She needs to be kept as a pet and she needs the home she deserves so please only message if you can provide this for her. I will be doing a house check before she is rehoused with you and this process will be over several visits to give you a chance to meet her and for her to become familiar with her new home and owners. Because of this I will be updating the price, I don’t want any money for her but because at the moment she is free this is attracting the wrong types of people. This price is negotiable if you can give her the right home.

An ideal home for her would be an individual home who is looking for a loyal loving companion, with no other pets. Cali is extremely protective of her home so you have to be aware that she is a danger to anyone she isn’t familiar with entering your home.
Background
We have had Cali since we rehomed her in March 2023, she is a gentle giant in the home and very loving towards the people in her family including young children. Cali is extremely protective which is in her nature due to her breed. She is very trainable as she is treat orientated, she knows all of her basic commands sit, paw, down, leave. She can even wee on command. Cali has shown no sign of resource guarding towards us or the children, we can take food or toys away from her
Cali loves playing ball and is very good at fetch she also loves to sleep, cuddle and snore.
Reason for us having to rehome
We are having to rehome Cali because we cannot provide the life she needs, as I work she had to go to my mums for the day like she has for the last year. My mum has 2 German shepherds who Cali has been around since we got her, 95% of the time it’s been fine but there has been a few incidents over food but on Wednesday 17th April Cali bit my mums dog, this time there was no food involved. We think Cali became jealous of my mum fussing the other dogs as Cali bit the dog just after my mum fussed it. Due to this I am no longer able to take her there, I still have to work so I cannot leave Cali at home all day by herself. I cannot provide the training and the life she deserves, she is extremely reactive to strangers and other animals including dogs, treats or a ball do the trick in re directing her attention, but because of her strength I am too scared to walk her. We have been muzzle training and Cali has a positive relationship with the muzzle but she isn’t at the point where she will wear this out the house.
Cali is extremely dog and stranger reactive, she is very protective of her home.
Cali hasnt been neutered or vaccinated as I haven’t tried getting her to the vets due to her reactivity but she is up to date with her spot on.
If you feel you can give her the right home please contact me, I have contacted various rescues and I have no other options so this is why I am posting on here, she is such a lovely dog in the home and I am doing everything I can to avoid her having to be put to sleep.
Willing to travel to ensure she gets the home she deserves and needs.
