Description

6y old labrador looking for a retirement home. KC registrated, perfect health tests (0/0 hips and elbows). Has been spayed recently, up to date with worm/flea treatments and vaccinations. Vet nurse and behaviourist owned. Originally bought 4y ago with the plan to add her to my breeding program and work her on shoots. She has now retired from breeding and sadly due to her prey drive being too high, she hasnt ever been suitable for working as part of my picking up team (she was a trained deer stalking dog before I owned her). Rather than her stay home whilst I am out on shoots/training days, id prefer her to have a retirement home where she has more attention and companionship. She is very affectionate and kind. Travels perfectly in car. Happy housed, crated, kenneled, shes easy! She's not had a day's sick. Her bad points!!! Her prey drive/impulse control She cannot be fully trusted off lead, sometimes she doesnt range far, sometimes shes gone on scent and brings herself home! Fine where I live but not for the usual home so would need to be walked on lead/secure paddock - she does however walk lovely on lead! She has been trustworthy loose in my paddock with sheep that are dog savvy but I would not fully trust her around livestock (I definitely do not think she would harm but I wouldnt be surprised if she chased if they ran). She hasnt lived with cats and probably isn't suitable to be homed with them. She hasnt lived with children and can be worried around my unfamiliar children but I would imagine with management she could easily live with children if introduced properly as shes had some lovely interactions with ones shes made friends with. She has never shown aggression but will fear bark and move away if worried. My ideal home.... Quiet, experienced, secure garden, another dog desirable as she's lived in company for years. I am in no rush, trial period an option, happy to have her back at any time if home doesnt work out, life time support Please message telling me more about yourself and the gome you can offer.
