Description

Mixed Breed Cross between German Wirehaired Pointer x Springer Spaniel Born around 20/10/2024 - She is 11 months. Completely up to date with vaccinations, worming & flea treatments. Not currently neutered. (Had her first season 14/08/25, so can be neutered.) She is an intelligent, high-energy, and affectionate dog, that is loyal to and protective of her family. She can be boisterous and prone to separation anxiety at times, requiring physical and mental stimulation throughout the day or if left alone. She has been destructive when left alone without enough stimulation, so lick mats, snuffle mats, long lasting chews etc are essential! We can provide some of these. She has been in a household with a young child (under 2) and 2 other dogs who are both older - 1 male, 1 female. However, her high energy and potential for excitable behaviour means that she may be best suited to active households with older children or teenagers and plenty of space. We are having to rehome her due to aggressive behaviour shown to our other female dog (3 yo). This is only a recent occurrence, since she has come into season. We have sought advice from the vets and they’ve said it would be best to separate them as they’re both very dominant breeds. Plus, we can’t risk any aggression with a young child around. They have had two physical fights where we have had to intervene due to injuries. Prior to the past month, there has been no signs of aggression and we have been assured by the vet that it’s most likely due to hormones from being in heat. However, our older dog is very timid around her now and it’s not fair on them both. It might be best getting her neutered if introducing her into a household with another female dog. Or she would be better suited with a male companion or as a lone work-type dog. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to give me a message.
