Bertie has been our cherished dog for 5 years now, but unfortunately since the introduction of mine and my partner's first child - Bertie's had a shock to the system. While he has now "Accepted" our baby as a member of his pack, it has been a very difficult experience for us to manage. We intend on growing our family further- and between our new parent commitments + our busy jobs, we feel it is the best decision for Bertie to be placed a new home that can provide him with the attention he deserves.
Bertie struggles with a sense of separation anxiety / stranger danger. He is extremely loving, cuddly, and quite frankly the most amazing companion to any person he feels familiar with. But he can be very difficult work with new people. He's also very hit and miss with children.
He is completely house trained, great recall, will confidently walk off-lead when out an about in nature (albeit be careful if a runner passes you by as he will jump up at them). His on-lead walking can be a bit of a handful, in that he behaves as though any walk you take him on is the first he's ever had and he is super excitable. After a while, he settles into the rhythm of it.
