Choose me if you're searching for a best friend, not just a dog!

Hi there lovely human, my name's Lilah-Belle (a.k.a Delilah, Babybell, Lilita Bellita, Little Sharkette, Little Squirrel-Fox, Little Girl, Snaps, and so on...)
I'm a German Shepherd Baladi mix rescued from Dahab, Sinai, Egypt. I've moved across the world, from Cairo to Somerset, searching for a home.
My story:
My foster mum saved me from the street when I was only 3 months old. She cured my bloating and chronic hiccups, raised me in a pack of rescues, prepared me for adoption (vaccines, blood tests, documents, passport, etc.), and then I watched as all the other puppies got adopted except for me. So after 3 years, my foster mum took me to England herself in March 2025, in the hope of bringing me closer to you! After everything I've been through, I deserve to be an only dog (or at least the main character), and my foster mum can't give me that (she's already forever-homed another big dog who needs a lot of attention). So now it's my turn!
Here's the boring medical bits:
- Neutered
- Microchipped
- Up-to-date rabies vaccine
- Up-to-date tick and flea treatment
- Passport/proof of entry to the UK
Now here's the fun stuff:
About me:
I LOVE cuddling! I'm very affectionate and cuddly, yes, always looking for a cuddle... I'm playful and curious outside, I love sniffing around, but I'm perfectly lazy inside and love sleeping (a lot). I'm not super energetic, but I love a good walk and a nice run around. I'm great with children and grandmas (see pics), I love them so much I can be a little full-on - jumping, licking, nibbling - but it's all very innocent! I'm fab with German Shepherds, Huskies, most small dogs, and other friendly dogs that I'm used to. I have the cutest little paws, the deepest brown eyes, and I grow a fluffy 'Christmas neck' every winter!
Key traits:
- Affectionate
- Emotionally intelligent
- Obedient
- Easily trainable
- Playful
- Cheeky
- Gentle
- Curious
- Loves crunching carrots and cucumbers!
Training:
- House-trained
- Leash-trained
- Basic commands (sit, paw/shake, lie down, place, bed, waits for the command to eat, come, or walk through a door/entrance)
- Crate-trained (for travel)
- Car/bus/train-trained
- 85% recall (a bit cheeky)
- 65% 'stay' command (still a bit cheeky)
Here's the sad stuff:
I've been beaten and attacked by grown men, children, dogs, and cats, so I can be a little on edge sometimes. I'm NOT violent, but I do have a protective German Shepherd personality, which means I can appear aggressive when I'm first introduced to new dogs. I might growl or try to dominate, and it's very important that you correct these behaviours and remind me that I don't need to do that anymore. I'm still healing and getting used to the lovely dogs here in England (instead of angry street dogs in Cairo), so I can take my time to get to know others, which is why I need you to be patient and firm! I usually wear a soft muzzle when I'm off-leash in popular/busy areas because that way I can safely meet other dogs and still have fun running around!
Key points:
- NOT violent
- Sometimes protective
- Aggressive tendencies when feeling uneasy around new dogs (showing teeth, growling) BUT very receptive to correction, responding well and quickly to guidance.
- Wears a soft muzzle when off-leash (for now)
- VERY trainable! Naturally friendly, just still a little traumatised.
Here's what I need from YOU:
- Must let me nap on the furniture and sleep on the bed. Non-negotiable.
- Preferably no cats and no other dogs. (Negotiable, depends how we get on.)
- You must be comfortable around big dogs, experienced with rescues/German Shepherds, and/or not afraid to hold your ground and be assertive when it comes to rules and training to keep me safe.
- You DON'T have to have a garden.
- You DON'T have to be a hiking-mountain-climbing-every-weekend-super-sporty person in order to keep me happy (I prefer lounging).
- But you DO have to enjoy long walks and keep me active every day (I put on weight easily).
- You DO have to give an F about being a responsible owner by keeping up with my training rituals and encouraging me to feel confident, relaxed, and submissive (because if I act dominant out of trauma, it can make me feel anxious and overprotective).
- You DO have to care about the quality of food I eat and invest in purer, healthier options. It's important you keep an eye on my eating habits because I have a history of bloating and chronic hiccupping.
- You DO have to get me enrolled with a vet, make sure I'm up-to-date with worming and vaccines, and get me regular health check-ups, etc.
- You DO have to be home most of the time. If you work away from home 2 or 3 days a week, that's ok, I'm very trustworthy when home alone, and comfortable on my own for 6-8 hours if I have to be. But I'm happiest with a human. Preferably, you work from/are home most days because I deserve a lot of love and attention!
"This girl is the most special dog you will ever meet in your life. She's been the best emotional support dog I could have asked for, offering cuddles during the high and lows of my mental health. I've seen her stand by a sick/dying puppy while all the other dogs naturally kept their distance from the weakest of the pack. I've seen her grow from a nervous, erratic rescue into a mature yet playful companion. She is always listening, always learning, always ready for the next cuddle, the next treat, the next adventure. She is adorable, courageous, affectionate, and so very special. She has literally crossed continents and travelled halfway across the world to find YOU. I wish with my whole heart that the right person/couple/family finds this dog and gives her the love she truly deserves for the rest of her life."
~ my foster mum.
