Description
MARA This enchanting feline is looking for her special companion. Mara is a delicate darling who may start off a bit grumpy and sassy, but once you earn her trust and companionship, it's absolutely worth it. Once you're in her inner circle, get ready for lots of lap-snuggles. Mara has a raspy meow and she isn't afraid to use it if you get too far out of sight for cuddles. And when it's time to unwind, she will be right there with you, snuggled up in bed. She is the ultimate bedtime buddy! Her favourite spot is spread out across your neck as your very own scarf. Mara is seeking her forever human so she can prove she is the Queen of Comfort! Mara has tonnes of personality and with that, she can be feisty too. She isn't a fan of traditional toys and prefers the luxury of watching bird/squirrel videos on TV or an iPad from her living room. She will walk off and want her own space when she is ready for it and will squirm out of your arms if she isn't feeling cuddly. She can bat your hand away if you give her one too many strokes, but she isn't aggressive. Just occasionally moody! But we think that makes Mara such a joy to have around, as her personality is so human-like, it draws your in. Mara has been overlooked for so long now, being in our care for over 2 years. Like some of our other cats in our care - she isn't floofy, or a sought-after pure-breed. She is a shorthair, quirky cat from the streets, who is in just as much need of love, safety and a roof over her head as any other cat. From street cat to Queen of Comfort, this lady has had her life turned around. She is in great health after recently having some dental surgery to look after her pearly whites and now is her time to finally settle in her happy ever after. Mara is suited to an indoor only home or a home with a safe enclosed garden or catio. Due to her sometimes feisty and sassy nature, we don't recommend Mara to be homed with children under 10. She would make a wonderful companion to a more mature or quieter household, such as a professional couple with no young children or someone in retirement. Mara isn't just a cat. She is a captivating character with a funny meow that will make your heart all warm and fuzzy. If you're ready for a journey of trust and undeniable charm, then Mara is the cat for you. Mara is currently in foster care in London and is: ✅ 6 years old ✅ Fully vaccinated ✅ Microchipped ✅ Sterilised ✅ Dewormed ✅ Blood tested negative for FIV/FeLV ✅ Vet health checked To adopt Mara and bring her home, send us a message for a pre-adoption form and one of our small rescue team will get back to you and answer any questions you may have. Home check applies. ECM is a registered charity in England and Wales, registration #1200865.
