Description
We are looking for a knowledgeable, experienced home for our two bonded Texel guinea pig boys. They will only be rehomed together, as they are closely bonded.
About them:
the lighter-coloured boy. He is smaller, very gentle, and easy to pick up.
the boy with the stripe on his face. He enjoys being stroked, especially on his head. He can be a little wriggly when being picked up, which is typical for guinea pigs who prefer minimal handling.
Both are friendly, calm, and lovely-natured.
Currently around 7 months old.
Bought originally from a breeder, not a pet shop.
Important care information:
They are Texels, so they have very high grooming needs. Their coats require regular trimming and maintenance to prevent matting, and as boars they will also require routine boar care. For this reason, they are not suitable for first-time or inexperienced guinea pig owners.
Reason for rehoming:
This is our first experience with guinea pigs, and we have come to realise that Texels are more grooming-intensive than we are equipped to manage properly long-term. We feel it is in their best interest to be placed with someone who is confident and experienced with long-haired guinea pigs and their care needs.
We are happy to answer questions and want to make sure they go to the right home where they will thrive.
