We need to rehome our 8-month-old Wire Haired Dachshund. We recently got him on the understanding he was well-trained and good with other dogs, but have found he isn't a good fit for our cockapoo and needs more specific training time than we can realistically offer.
He is a very affectionate, clever, house-trained boy who is gentle and loving with people. His main challenges are some resource guarding with food around our other dog, and some anxiety about being left alone. Importantly, he has never shown the guarding behaviour towards us. To help with his anxiety, we have started positive crate training which will need to be continued. He just needs a patient, experienced owner with no other pets, who is home most of the time and has the dedication to help him build his confidence.
We had him fully vet-checked, vaccinated (inc. Kennel Cough) once we got him. He was already microchipped. If you have the time and experience he deserves, please get in touch.
To help him settle in, he will come with his crate, bowls, lead, harness, and a supply of his current raw food.
