Bert -
Bert is a 9-month-old, blue Merle, long haired, male, KC registered Border Collie available for rehoming following a return through no fault of his own. Fully vaccinated and microchipped, not neutered.
Bert comes from a line of well performing show dogs, his sire has competed for the last three years at crufts and has placed successfully everytime. He has countless amounts of first places and champion of shows on his record- I am happy to go into these in more details of his new family would like.
He is a bright, energetic and intelligent young dog who loves to play with other dogs, but has shown some snappy behaviour when living with another dog in his previous home. This has never escalated and is easily managed with early human intervention. Since being returned to me he has never shown this behaviour and behaves beautifully around my other dogs (another male and two females). Unfortunately he has visited family houses and has shown the same snappy behaviour around their older dog.
For this reason, he would be best suited as an only dog in a hands-on, experienced home where his owners are confident managing boundaries and continuing his training. He has never shown any negative behaviour towards people and is extremely well behaved around both young children and cats.
Bert is perfect with other dogs on walks and will happily play til his hearts content, however in the home he much prefers to be on his own as he is a naturally independent boy.
He will thrive with an active family who can give him plenty of mental stimulation, structured exercise and clear leadership.
Bert is such a sweetheart and has a great off switch, he enjoys his own space and will happily take himself away for a snooze or he will sit with you and take in all of the attention. He loves to play tug of war and will play fetch all day long.
He loves to be fussed and cuddled and knows quite a vast amount of tricks.
Bert can be strong on the lead but he is getting better and better with time.
Unfortunately as much as I would love to keep him I do not have the space for four dogs.
Whoever is lucky enough to own this gorgeous boy will have such a great companion!
Please note Bert will be rehomed with a contract and does have breeding endorsements in place so he cannot be bred from.
Bert is fed a mixed diet or raw and biscuits and loves his raw/natural chews.
He will come with all of this paperwork, a 2kg bag of food, his collar, harness, lead and his favourite toys.
Bert can be viewed with his mother (and two siblings) and full background can be given. I have plenty of pictures of him as a puppy and of him with his time with me.
