Well hello friends! My name is Bubba, my foster mum says I’m the sweetest little button you’ll ever meet! I’m just 2 years old and if you pick me, I’ll be your devoted loving companion on adventures. Underneath my scruffy fluff is a shining star with a brilliant brain “Shine-stine”! Are you prepared to be amazed? This is what my foster mum says… I gotta dash to hunt critters in the woods!
Bubba is a total joy, she is such an easy dog in the home; toilet trained, sleeping through the night, easy to handle and extremely affectionate, she doesn’t chew. She has a biddable and friendly nature, unbothered by household noises. Adopters should be prepared to take things steady while she continues adjusting.
She is a VERY bright little girl who enjoys training and will thrive doing something like Scent Work or Trick Training, she is a LOT of fun to train and has the potential to excel. She is nimble fast and agile but due to her exercise history she may not be suited to demanding sports. She has a good recall developed in Foster and this must be continued in safe locations such as secure fields. She has a very good ‘sit’ which helps with her excitable greetings and she takes a treat very nicely. She has learned to wait in turn with other dogs. She is a smaller medium sized dog, slight in build.
She doesn’t enjoy car rides but with support from steady dogs she is able to settle. She does not find it easy to be alone, so companion dogs are crucial in her life so she can settle. She is initially wary of new people, but with gentle introductions she warms and remembers everyone she has met before.
What Bubba needs:
* Someone who is experienced with or understands sighthounds and committed to providing safe outlets for her needs.
* Another friendly and playful dog is an absolute must
* A home with people around most of the time
* Older sensible children
* A family who will welcome her on sofas for cuddling as she loves to snuggle
* Someone who doesn’t worry about her wriggly greetings
* The company of nice mannered playful dogs who enjoy a run, she is a polite neutral dog who doesn’t ‘pester’ other dogs
* She invites play when off lead and would benefit from a similar breed who understands and enjoys this play style
* A rural or semi-rural location where she can enjoy sniffing wabbits
* A VERY secure garden for zoomies, she MUST have opportunity for Whippety running
*A family who are sensitive to her history and give her time to adjust
* A genuinely active family or human who will ensure she gets the exercise and mental stimulations she needs, regularly throughout the day.
She doesn’t enjoy vet visits and needs patience, although she is happy to be handled, she needs support. Bubba has seen wildlife from behind a fence and would struggle to recall where she has an opportunity to chase. Therefore; Adopters must accept in some locations (e.g. woodland) may never be off lead for her own safety.
