Description

Toad is a loyal, friendly and gentle natured dog with a love for cuddles on the sofa and lots of fuss and attention. He enjoys the quieter side of life with calm days and evenings, he’s quite sensitive to loud noises and needs a lot of comfort if something startles him. I’m ideally looking for someone who works from home or has a job where they’re able to pop home at lunch time to say a quick hello and let him out to go to the toilet. He is well house trained and never has accidents in the house. If you leave the house though he can not be confined to one room, he will need as much access to the house as possible so he feel safe and not confined. Toad is not very good with young children and can find babies cries quite distressing (hence why we’re looking for a new home for toad) he would suit an older family more who possibly have grown up children or teenagers. Toad is a bit of an old soul even though he’s only 6 years old and doesn’t tend to play with toys or enjoy really long adventurous walks, he actually enjoys just sitting on the sofa and watching doggy TV. I’ve found in the past that hiring a doggy walking field for an hour to let him have a run around is more applicable to him than a walk, he’s sometimes happy with a stroll around the garden and then is ready for another nap. Toad isn’t neutered which can make being around other dogs too much of an exciting experience for him. He is an ex failed farm dog and was originally used by the previous owner for breeding due to his strong red fox lab genetics meaning that it’s in his nature to want to mate with any dog he sees (both male and female). I would prefer toad to be in a home environment where he’s a solo pet. I WILL NOT be giving Toad away with the intention of him becoming a breeding dog to the next owner. I am open to answering any questions in regards to rehoming toad. We as a family are devastated to be rehoming him however due to having a newborn he sadly doesn’t have the attention and time he deserves anymore.
