Description

Duke – Cane Corso Looking for His Forever Home Meet Duke, our gentle giant Cane Corso. He’s a huge boy with an even bigger heart – fiercely loyal like the breed is known for, but also a complete teddy bear at home. Duke loves nothing more than lounging with his humans watching movies, playing with toys, or heading out on a good hike. He’s a fun-loving, playful companion who just wants to be part of the family. Duke came to us at our training centre as a surrender (we rescue a handful of dogs and provide training). He was surrendered as sadly, within a few days of being in his new home he developed separation anxiety when being left, leading to chewing when left alone and ultimately after a short stay arrived with us Since coming to us, Duke hasn’t destroyed anything – he’s been crate trained, exercised daily, and had structured playtime. We believe his issues stemmed from confusion and being left too soon in a strange house he wasnt familiar with which can be tough for a loyal breed like a corso. Duke will thrive in a home where someone is around more, or willing to continue his crate training and meet his needs with walks and play. He may also be suited to the sporting world as he's confident and loves a tug but never any formal decoy assessments. What you need to know: • Walks nicely on lead • House trained • Good recall (must bond first) • Crate trained • were told he has lived with children and has been fine with dog-savvy kids but wouldn't recommend small children purely bases on his size • Can be selective around some dogs – has had several doggy friends here (from large breeds down to a pug), but we were told he has previously reacted in one home at smaller breeds on walks, we recommend him as an only dog because of this. Duke is currently with us in kennels and he isnt a fan, he truly deserves a forever home. He’s an incredible dog who will make someone an amazingly loyal companion. We are looking for a suitable home with prior large breed experience and someone committed to continuing his training and care. If you think you could offer Duke the home he deserves, please get in touch.
