Description
Border Terrier puppies available. Bred for their clever nature's and loveable friendly temperament, who’ll fit in on the sofa and on the farm. Available to the very best homes, 2 male puppies and 2 female puppies from our litter of 6. Born in early July, ready to go to the very best vetted homes at the end of August. We’re in an enviable position where we are (& have been) fussy about the homes that our pups go to. We’ll expect you to commit to giving this pup a home for life, so be aware that we’ll have questions about you and your family and will expect you to ask us questions in return. We want to ensure that our pups end up in the very best active homes.
About the Mother – Esther - Mother can be seen with pups. She is conformationally correct, Grizzle (although does carry the wheaten gene). Although there is no compulsory testing for Border Terriers, Esther has heart tested clear and is genetically clear for all other conditions. Conformationally adhering to KC breed standards and has showing lines behind her. She lives in the house with us and our other dogs. By nature, she is an affectionate, obedient, trainable and loving dog and like most BT’s, she’s as comfortable with us out on the farm with the horse, sheep & chickens as she’s is on the sofa with our family.
About the Father – Wabbs - During the planning of this litter, we did a lot of research and asked a lot of questions. We chose a dog who was recommended for his superb temperament, confirmation and potential working sire. Chosen for his temperament, Wabbs is Grizzle & Tan in colour, KC registered, heart tested and genetically tested clear. He is firstly a family pet but is also active in his farm duties. Spending days on the farm, going on hacks with the horses and nights in the pub!
About the Pups - They’ve had a great start and their mother is feeding them well. They’ve been/will have been wormed every 2 weeks from 4 weeks as recommended by our vet. At 8 weeks will have been health checked twice, microchipped and will have had their primary course of inoculations for you to continue. They’ll come with a puppy pack and their weaning diet to get you started. These pups have been born and raised in a busy country family home and are an accustomed to all the usual hustle and bustle associated with this. They’ve been on car journeys, handled by children and met our other dogs. They’ve listened to recordings of fireworks and gun shots as part of their upbringing and we would recommend continuing this as part of a desensitisation programme.
About you - You’ll need to verbalise the process you’ve gone through for choosing a pup, a Border Terrier specifically, and why you’ll be able to give one of our pups their best home for life. We’ll start with a telephone call and then work out for the best way for you to get to know the pup and for us to get to know you. We’ll be flexible around viewing and collection for the right family. We very much see this as the start of a long friendship as we will expect you to keep in touch with us on your pups progress. It’s tricky to take flattering pics of young puppies so happy to send videos and FaceTime after our initial conversation.
