Description

Free to a loving home! I'm looking to urgently rehome (within two weeks from 24/11) my gorgeous indoor ginger moggie - who I believe may be a small part Maine Coon. His name is Augustus (‘Gus’) and he will turn 10 years old in January. I adore him and am devastated at the thought of giving him up, but unfortunately I cannot see another way. We have had him since he was 10 weeks old. He is scared of feet and will often lash out when we walk past him. My home is now not right for him due to him being near children. It is only really me who can tell exactly what mood he is in and if I’m at risk of being scratched - this takes some learning. He will prefer a middle-aged to older adult owner with no children. He does love to sit and have a gentle hand on his head but does not like being touched below his head. He is very loving once you get to know his moods! He is quite easily startled and nervous of any sudden movements. He has previously lived with other cats and was fine with one of them, but did not like (and chased) the other. He is a very clean cat despite using a litter tray, and he loves to play with catnip-filled toys and toys dangling from sticks. I am not interested in money for him but would like him to go to a loving home. He has a urinary/metabolic diet and mainly eats Hill's prescription biscuits due to a previous urinary issue (we believe this was caused by being nervousness/anxiety). He is microchipped but is a lone indoor cat so does not have up to date vaccinations. He does not go outside but used to have a large enclosed cat run, which he loved. If trained appropriately, perhaps he could go out. Please contact me if you feel you and he would work well together!
