It saddens us that we need to re home Dexter.
But we also believe he deserves somewhere / someone that can give him more. He deserves more than we can give him right now.
*** Ideally he needs to be the only pet in the family house as he’s very protective and gets a bit jealous. Otherwise, outside the house he’s alright with other dogs. He’s not overly friendly so don’t expect him to be playful with other dogs. He would rather walk along and mind his own business. He’s a guard dog by breed at the end of the day. Dobermans are not ‘toy’ dogs. Please don’t expect him to frolic with other dogs. Just let him be close and comfortable with you on walks ***
• Highly intelligent and knows many commands. We can show you this in person too
• Currently on a raw meat diet, we recommend keeping this to keep his healthy build. Though if you are going to change his diet please do it gradually and carefully to avoid an upset stomach / illness.
• Understands bed time / lights off means “shhh” (will ONLY bark if there’s genuinely someone lingering outside your house) he doesn’t bark aimlessly.
• Natural ears and tail. No illegal body modifications.
• He will come microchipped, flee treated and has his recent vaccinations. We have evidence of this and you can ring his vets for confirmation. (I will change his microchip details to yours in front of you, in person the day you take him for your peace of mind)
• He loves ripping apart his toys but he knows the difference between “his toys” and “human things” he’s never once ripped or chewed our shoes or furniture. Thankfully.
• He will come with every lead, harness, bowl, food, dog shampoo, treats, toys anything we have left. He will come with it all.
• He is crate trained. We have a large crate (he can stand up and move in) which you can have for free. You don’t have to use it. But I recommend taking it for either travelling, time out or whilst he’s new in your home it may help him feel more ‘safe’. We barely use the crate these days as he’s well behaved.
• He’s been neutered (wasn’t by us)
• He loves long walks
• He lets you bath him (we do this once every 2 months)
• He loves cuddles
• He’s extremely good with children. He will protect them with his life. I have to say this for my peace of mind. Never leave any dog unattended with children. Regardless of breed and trust. Though, you will fall in love with how great he is with children.
• He’s full of energy, but not hyper.
• He loves looking out of windows like he’s pondering life.
• He actually watches the tv with you. Not all the time. But he will sit next to you on the floor and actively watch tv.
• We’re in West Yorkshire. If you’re not too far away we can bring him to you. If it’s a tad far we would require additional money for fuel
• You can come see him with no pressure to take him
• IF you require us to bring him to you, you are agreeing to take him that day and we would require full payment made. Respectfully, we’re not carting him off for him to be rejected.
• You may place a deposit for peace of mind you have first place. Though it’s not mandatory.
• If you’re willing to take him sooner rather than later (don’t mess us around and keep us waiting) we’re willing to let him go for £100
