Description

She has been a family pet for 4 years but requires a home where she can be worked (even if in her eyes she's doing a job), then at the end of the day snuggle up with the family. She is a very active dog so will suit a busy outdoor lifestyle. She can however spend a whole day snuggling in her bed if there's not much going on. Her recall is great however if she gets a scent and not recalled in time she will flush anything out the next field over and always return with her ears flapping in the wind very pleased with herself. She needs lots of attention due to her size and breed and needs positive reinforcement only when she gets overexcited. Very affectionate, will try to sit on your shoulder or nuzzle your neck. She really is a beautiful soul and will only go to the right person who has the time and understands her needs as she is very much a part of our family, the decision has taken a long time to make. We would only consider a fairly local rehome as we'd love to see her if possible during her first few weeks and keep in touch, at least in the beginning as the children will be very sad to see her go. She doesn't have any actual behavioural problems, isn't an excessive barker, never chews, has some fear of missing out but only because she wants to be with you. She is used to and LOVES children, never shown an ounce of agression. The only thing that we manage is mild resource guarding ie she will try and hide a chew/grumble if she thinks it will be taken. She'll happily give it up for a treat swap though! She is crate trained and will be okay left for up to 4 ish hours, she loves being cosy and can often be found under a blanket. She travels well in the car and gets very excited to go out. She had a planned litter at 3 years old which really helped her settle, she was a fantastic mum. She is now spayed. She's on a health care plan, so has regular flea worm and vaccines. She's never been ill or had any health issues requiring vet treatment. She can happily live with children and dogs however the right home to be honest is going to be somewhere calm and one who can give her enough attention and focus. She gets very excited by smaller pets ie rabbits, as her prey drive is high however she does not harm them, just finds them exciting. She is trustworthy to be gentle and allowed with them unattented. So for the new owners sanity it is easier if this isnt a trigger. She would suit an older experienced couple who don't mind a bit of chaos followed by cuddles. Previous experience of working spaniels would really be beneficial to know what to expect from her. She could easily be a fantastic work buddy for a game keeper or similar. Please feel free to ask for more details. As I mentioned above, she will only go to the right home and a home check and pre-meet will be requested please. She is also advertised elsewhere within the farming community.
