Description
I have 2 gorgeous cockatiels, Pikachu (male) and Alola (female), both around 4 years old although unrelated to each other. I love these birds to bits but my circumstances mean I need to help them find a new home.
I've had Pikachu (the more yellowy one) since he was a baby. He is clever, funny, affectionate and lively. He mainly loves talking to his reflection in the mirror or if he can't find a mirror then his shadow will do. He can say a few words like "peekaboo" "I love you" "night night" and he sings the first line of Rockabye Baby (badly). He loves giving me kisses and sitting on my head or shoulder. He loves having his head scratched. He needs to be allowed to fly free during the day or be in a large aviary. Although he loves attention and interaction, he isn't very well trained, so he can be quite hard to catch. But at night I just wait for him to go into the cage for food and then shut him in. He will bite if you try to touch him when he doesn't want it or try to get him to do something he doesn't want.
Alola (the more grey one) I got when she was about a year old. She came to me with deformed claws and unable to fly. She can walk on the floor and can climb round the cage but it just takes her a bit longer than Pikachu. Her feathers also seem to break quite easily but are much better than they used to be. She is quite shy and although she will sometimes accept stroking its not her favourite thing. But if I put her on my arm or shoulder she will often sit there quite happily for a while or gently pull my hair. She's very gentle and will never bite. She mainly stays in her cage or sit on the perch outside the cage but will occasionally climb down and wander round on the floor.
I just want to know my babies are going to a good home. The cost is for both birds and cage, and is mainly a contribution towards the cage (cage, perches, feeders, water bottles etc. all included).
