Description

If you are interested in Dylan please contact us via our website for our application form thank you. 💙 Meet Dylan – Our Gentle, Noble Boy Catalan Sheepdog mix | Approx 3 years old | 35kg | Being fostered in Gloucestershire Dylan is a truly special soul who has settled beautifully into his foster home in Gloucestershire, where he lives harmoniously with other dogs in an adult-only household. He’s a large lad—around 35kg—and we believe he’s a Catalan Sheepdog mix, combining intelligence, loyalty, and a wonderfully gentle nature. 🐾 Dylan’s Story Dylan was found wandering as a stray in Spain—sadly, an all-too-common story. But even without a known history, it was immediately clear he had once been someone’s pet. He knew how to sit, give his paw, and walk calmly on a lead. Sadly, his worn-down canines suggest he had likely been caged for long periods, and he showed signs of desperation when first arriving at the shelter, trying to bite the wire fencing—especially during thunderstorms, which terrified him. We suspect he was a much-loved dog at some point, passed on and then cruelly confined, which left emotional scars. I travel to Spain twice a year with my dogs and always spend time volunteering at the shelter we support. I help assess dogs, take them out, and often escort one or two back to the UK—dogs I’ve truly connected with and had time to understand. Dylan was one of those dogs. From the beginning, I felt a deep connection. He came to my temporary home in Spain, lived with my own dogs, and gave me no cause for concern. It was clear he deserved a new start. This is of his best moments in Spain https://youtube.com/shorts/tzrYYac2c-8?si=ZA8Wkc61YljGzbNC 🏡 Life in Foster Dylan has slotted into our UK home as if he’s always been part of the family. He’s been wonderful with our resident dogs and visiting dogs too. His best friend here is Lucy, a large breed female of similar age. They adore each other—playing together, exploring the woods on walks, and sharing a joyful, companionable bond. For that reason, Dylan will need a home with another friendly, confident large breed dog to be his buddy. He travels well in the car, his recall on walks is excellent, and in the house he’s calm, clean, and relaxed. At night, he sleeps peacefully in the kitchen with the other dogs. He’s been left for short periods with no issues. Truly, he’s a gentleman through and through—with a heart-melting nature. A video of his best moments in UK as i have too many https://youtube.com/shorts/hJ-v-1BaqT4?si=RS5GPjCY0PlH_due 🧐 A Few Quirks Like many dogs with Collie or herding ancestry, Dylan has shown an interest in fast-moving objects. He pays no attention to cars but can be tempted to chase bikes, buses, and lorries. It’s not aggressive—more keen excitement—but it's something that needs managing with awareness. In the front garden, he’ll give a big bark if someone walks past (and it’s an impressive bark!), but he’s always fine when new people come into the house. He has occasionally shown nervousness around unfamiliar people, cowering slightly, which suggests past trauma. But with kind, steady introductions, he builds trust quickly. 🏠 The Home Dylan Needs A rural or semi-rural home with space to run and explore Another young, large-breed dog for companionship and play Kind, dog-savvy humans who understand rescue dogs and want a true family member A home where he will never be put into kennels—he would not cope in that environment No young children, purely due to his size and sensitivity Dylan is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated. He has a Pet Passport and has had full pre-travel blood tests, all of which were negative. We’ve included videos so you can see him in different situations—playing, walking, relaxing—because sometimes words don’t do justice to a dog like Dylan. He’s incredible. A gentle giant with a heart full of love. If you feel you could offer Dylan the life he deserves, please email us at 📩 ************ to request our pre-adoption questionnaire.
