‘There’s no place like home...i wish’
DINKUM’S in three sentences
A pint sized sausage whose little jaunty cant melts a kind heart. Her want to belong even though she cant compete with the more animated dogs is very notable & endears you to her no end. A roll of courage with an antenna ear.
In the vets words
‘She is very good & kind but very sad.She needs love & a family. She has a very calm character ’.
When we consider the appraisal of a vet in Europe we have to remember how many dogs they see therefore any comment about an individual rescue is significant & sincere. They check them over in the most stressful of circumstances so this description of dinkum’s highlights her
docile & gentle nature.

In the words of the welfare including DINKUM’S history
I heard about DINKUM’S through a local Bulgarian surgeon. She was her mother’s neighbours dog - cruelly she kept this placid little soul on a chain for the duration of her 6yrs on earth- a godless one for her. The surgeons mother had a male dog mostly chained & able to mix with DINKUM’S - producing litters - one very recent. When the doctors mother passed away DINKUM’S went to the surgeons home for her immediate care along with her 6 babies. Four have gone to Bulgarians & I’m trying to save & home the remaining two brothers. They haven’t known neglect so it’s like meeting a very normal pedigree prize :) as gorgeous if not more so & with that bearded, scruffy, terrier look. Please
ask for details. DINKUM’S was delighted to be off her awful heavy chain & I was asked to help. Unfortunately with her commitments the doctor put dinks in a Bulgarian pound unbeknown to me where the very real possibility of going on another chain is horrifically real as well as being put out on the streets. I’ve made it my business to make sure that won’t happen to Dinkum & as many dogs as possible. Can you imagine- she finally gets a chance and then the nightmare starts again? It makes me feel physically sick to consider it.
Every dog I see in an enclosure whether they are trying to be seen, in the shadows or trying to make it from the latter to the light - all deserve to belong.
They don’t and never have. Each one of them however obvious, subtle or hidden it is, yearn for company. They never stop wanting to be accepted, to please & receive kindness. DINKUM’S only ‘encounters’ until now with the species that abandoned her were desolate & warped yet she still desires human contact & she’ll navigate her evaporating fears to achieve it.
How is it possible that a small creature can be so forgiving of this big bad world? DINKUM’S has never had what she should have always known & it isn’t too late to jewel her with that. Alls you need is a heart that beats just like hers & together you can rule the household.
DINKUM’S Bulgarian name was ‘Jessica’
