Hello, my name is Louie, Iām originally from Cyprus and Iām looking for a forever home of my very own. My lovely guardians have been trying to find it for me for over a year, but the right person hasnāt yet come for me, which makes me so sad. Could you be that special one, someone to look after me? Please?
Iām a 4 year old hound cross, and I weigh about 15kg. Iām not too big and not too small either; in fact Iām just right for you. Iām very confused why no-one wants me, why Iām still without my proper home. I have a beautiful ginger coat with the softest long velvet ears that I adore being stroked. Could we snuggle up together and you give me some gentle love?
Iāve had a very rough start in life and my guardians found me when I was in a horrible municipal shelter in Cyprus, where dogs donāt last long. I was terrified of the place and tried to hide away from the other dogs, I was constantly shaking with fear. It was awful. I might have been an abandoned Hunterās dog, I was so traumatised that I canāt really remember my early days. From there I went to a nicer shelter and then a foster home; only recently did I come to to the UK to a dog shelter. The relief to have lovely people looking after me in the shelters and foster homeā¦I canāt tell you how nice it is. Iāve been promised a home of my own when the right person comes along - please, is that you? Iām ideally looking for my forever home, but a lovely foster home would be amazing too. Just to have a quieter life with lots of love and regular mealsā¦ Iād be in heaven. Iāve never had a person of my own before.
Iām a really good boy, I get along with anyone. I donāt mind other nice dogs, cats or people; I get on with anyone once I trust them not to hurt me. My guardians say that Iām a bit cheeky too, but I donāt know what they mean! I learn quickly too, so I would soon pick up the rules of your house with some gentle guidance.
Like so many dogs, I contracted leishmaniasis after a bite from a pesky sandfly, but this has now been treated. One tablet a day of allopurinol keeps everything under control and does not affect my health or my beautiful personality. I can live a completely normal doggy life. Many, many dogs are adopted like me, leishmaniasis is not the end of the world for us!
I will happily accompany you on long walks or runs, then relax with you afterwards on the sofa. Do you have a Louie-shaped space in your home and heart? Are you up to the challenge of having fun with me?
Please consider giving me a chance, you wonāt regret it. I promise to be a really good boy full of fun and be your loyal companion in life. I will need a secure fenced garden and any children should be over 10.
