OUR LUCKY PENNY 🥰
Beautiful Penny is a dog that’s been with us for a very long time but is not seen very often. Penny came to us from Romania as an emergency. She had suffered 2 broken legs in the shelter where she also had surgery and metal plates inserted. Penny arrived terrified. She would scale the walls and look for any escape route she could. It took a long time to desensitise Penny. To get her on a lead. To be able to touch her and reassure her she was safe.
Penny’s body started to reject the plates in her leg and she needed them out. She had surgery to remove the plates which were huge and must have been so uncomfortable for her. The bones have healed and we did not replace the plates.
Fast forward a year later…. Penny is happy!! She joins us on walks, zooms round the field, loves a snack from her human friends and loves a fuss. We’ve recently discovered she is very partial to dressing up!! She is such a sweetheart and we feel she is ready to start to look for a family of her own who will love her as much as we do.
Penny does need a very experienced and adult only home. She can still be nervous and takes some time to make friends. Penny needs to live with another dog (preferably male) in a calm and patient environment who will realise that this is a huge move for Penny - she doesn’t understand this will hopefully be her last ever move and will find this really scary.
We absolutely adore every inch of Penny and we will insist on several meets and strict criteria to make sure a family is right for her.
Penny’s legs do not require any further vet treatment and has been signed off from the vets. The surgeries have left scars on her legs and her feet are quite long and flat. We call them her flippers and it adds to her special personality.
Penny is:

❤️ good on lead but can be nervous out and about

❤️needing an adult only home with another dog
All of our dogs come with full rescue back up and 4 weeks free insurance. Penny is based in Worcestershire and will need several meets before going home. We don’t expect to find her perfect home immediately and we will not let Penny go home unless it is absolutely right for her. 🧡🧡🧡
